BURSARIES AWARDED TO LOCAL STUDENTS

The Rotary Club of Windsor St. Clair recently awarded 7 high school students with bursaries to assist with their post-secondary education costs.

The Principal and Guidance Departments at secondary schools in the Windsor St. Clair area were asked to select 2 potential candidates from their grade 12 student body. Students came from Riverside, St. Josephs' Herman and École secondaire l'Essor.

The $750 bursaries were awarded to: (Above: left to right) Mitchell Lisinski (Lambton College); Salim Hassan (University of Western); Sarah Bouchat (University of Windsor) ; Brian Tang (University of Windsor) ; and Ryan Hana (University of Waterloo). Hong Yu Su ( McGill University) and Marwa Mroue were unavailable to make the presentation.

In making the awards, the committee tasked with selecting the winning students considered academic achievement, volunteer activities, financial need and future goals. Each student has been provided a cheque for $ 750.00, to assist with tuition and books for coming school year. The total club donation of $ 5,250 was raised through bingo volunteer sessions during the past year.
