Starting at 4:00 pm on August 16th and going for the next 24 hours, the 11 Rotary Clubs in Essex County and Windsor will take turns supporting food rescue and food security at Gleaners in Leamington. We are looking forward to processing the fresh produce generously donated by farmers and food producers.
Southwestern Ontario Gleaners is a group of dedicated people who ship surplus dehydrated vegetables, in the form of soup mixes, to vulnerable communities around the world. They have been in operation since 2014. It is an interdenominational organization that provides free dehydrated vegetable mix and dehydrated fruit for distribution to local community partners and reputable relief agencies around the world.
