Chris Woodrow has been named President of the Rotary Club of Windsor-St. Clair for the 2012/2012 Rotary year.  A Rotarian since 2007, Chris has been actively involved in many facets of club operations, notably the TV Auction Committee where he served as chair for two successful years, the club public relations committee, RELAY and many other club activities. He was honored as Rotarian of the year in 2009.

“Being a member of the Windsor St. Clair Rotary Club allows me to play a small role in giving back to the Windsor-Essex community and indeed to communities around the world,” Chris said humbly.  “Volunteering time and working on projects to help those less fortunate really make me realize how fortunate I am.”  With a background in communications, public relations, strategic planning and customer service, he is currently serving as Acting CEO of Windsor Public Library.  Before joining the library in 2003, he worked for various local school boards and the University of Windsor and held marketing, communications and customer service roles in the private sector.

The International Rotary Theme for this coming year is Peace Through Service. Chris intends to build upon this theme throughout the year.  “Every member of the Windsor St. Clair Rotary needs to know they are valued and relied on,” he says.  “We are all here to make a difference. We enjoy our time as Rotarians.  But the knowledge that our Rotary service is valued – that is what keeps us attending meetings, no matter what other demands compete for our time. And this is why each one of us, however long we have been in Rotary, must strive to find new ways to help others and in doing so acknowledge the positive change we all can make.”
