At a morning ceremony in the gazebo overlooking the DetroitRiver at Shanfield Shores Park, Alan Drouillard was inducted as the 2009-2010 president of the Windsor St. Clair Rotary Club.

Community service and volunteerism has always been an important element in the Drouillard family and Alan believes it was instilled in him at an early age.  Throughout his life, it has always been crucial to give back to the community in some way, and through Rotary and Scouting, Alan and his family have epitomized this important community virtue.

"Rotary is the largest service organization in the world.  By becoming involved at the grassroots level through service to my community - the community where I live - I held a vision that I could impact it in a positive way.  Rotary has provided me the opportunity to follow through on my vision," says the incoming president.

The 2009-20010 theme for 1.2 million Rotarians around the world, and the 50 members of the Windsor St. Clair Club, is The Future of Rotary Is In Your Hands.  Alan intends to apply this theme on a local basis by focusing on membership and recognizing all of the 'little things' which comprise a successful Rotary Club.  Without active and committed members, the Rotary Club of Windsor St. Clair would be unable to support the many worthy community projects with which it is involved.

"Our club possesses a fine cross-section of skills and abilities which, when harnessed with  enthusiasm - can achieve anything.   I want to direct that enthusiasm to make the community a better place - which is in keeping with the theme, The Future of Rotary Is In Your Hands."

Alan lives in Tecumseh with wife Stephanie and their two young boys, Adam and Luke.  A graduate of the University of Windsor with undergraduate and graduate degrees in Business Administration, Alan is Senior Manager, Commercial Banking for Southwestern Ontario at the National Bank of Canada.  Before returning to Windsor, Alan worked for the Royal Bank in London and the Kitchener/Waterloo area, transferred to Windsor with Royal Bank and then in 2004 joined National Bank.
